My work, mostly analogue, deals a lot with nostalgia, exploration, and my observations of my surroundings. I love photography and art of all types. I'm addicted to photography books and Gallery shows. I used to dabble in Digital photograpy, but the analogue process is like meditation to me. I use a lot of Polaroid; I use way too much Polaroid.
The rebellion of the algorithm, I would say, is pretty much what led me to my process today. I got tired of seeing the same images over and over as I scrolled through feeds on various digital sites. Almost as if photographers had a checklist that needed to be filled when out photographing.
Now I shoot film and scan it, polaroid, and transfer it. The grit and grime that come with my techniques help accentuate the imperfections of the environment or subject matter that I am photographing.
